Front of House Food and Beverage Management Internship

Our management intern program is customized for each participant depending on his or her goals, career plans, prior experience, and length of internship. All students are involved in daily hospitality operations and benefit from hands-on training with our seasoned management teams.

The Restaurant Rotation Plan includes experience in at least three of our restaurants with students typically spending four weeks in each area. Interns will work closely with the management team, work on special projects, and have the opportunity to run each restaurant independently. Concentrated Internships are also available which allow students to gain greater depth of knowledge in one particular area.

Job Summary:

Responsible for gaining knowledge and working in the capacity of supervision of the daily operations of restaurant and food and beverage retail outlets in accordance with estate standards. Performs daily opening and closing responsibilities of the Dining Room Supervisor.
Job Duties:

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times. Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Work as manager on duty supervising front of house restaurant operations.
  • Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials, service wares, equipment and facilities are in complete readiness for service at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all assigned work areas.
  • Oversee distribution of work and side duties.
  • Ensure that tables are seated to best service our guests.
  • Monitor the status of food and beverage orders; ensure that they are delivered within designated timelines; communicate regularly with the chef throughout meal period.
  • Monitor and ensure that all tables are cleared and reset according to department procedures.
  • Ensure all closing duties for staff are completed before staff sign out.
  • Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with on-coming manager.
  • Assist in conducting training on required job standards, menu knowledge, department procedures and policies for new.
  • Assist with on-going training for existing staff, utilizing pre-meal talks, monthly staff meetings, and special training meetings.
