For Classical and Old Time/Bluegrass Musicians and Choirs:

Thank you for your interest in performing at Biltmore Estate! George Vanderbilt started a rich tradition of music in Biltmore House in 1895 and we are proud to continue his legacy today. If you are interested in performing at Biltmore during an estate-wide special event, please send us the following:

  • Demo tape: Send a demo that represents the type of music the group performs. We prefer CD, but VHS and cassette tapes are accepted. It does not have to be professional quality; Biltmore will keep all demo tapes.
  • Information about the group: Tell us the number of members, whether the group is a children’s or youth group, the type of accompaniment the group uses or needs, the expected rate of pay, and contact information including name, address, phone, and e-mail. (Include summer contact if you are with a school group.)

We currently have a waiting list for performers. If and when we have an appropriate opening for your group, we will contact you. We use different types of music throughout the year, and it may change from year to year. Events in and around Biltmore House primarily use classical ensembles and at Christmas we have choirs. We also use traditional old time, bluegrass, and Appalachian musicians at the Historic Horse Barn.

Demo tapes may be sent to:
