Cabernet Chocolate Cake

Pairs well with the Biltmore Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Cake Ingredients: • 1 box Deluxe Devil's Food Cake mix
• 1/3 cup vegetable oil
• 4 eggs
• 1 cup sour cream
• 1 cup Biltmore Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Method: Mix ingredients with electric mixer, pour into cake pan and bake in accordance with cake mix directions. Cool and glaze with Chocolate-Cabernet Glaze. Chocolate-Cabernet Glaze Ingredients: • 1/2 to 1 12oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips (the whole package of chips will completely cover the cake, 1/2 package is enough to drizzle)
• 1-2 tablespoons butter
• 3-4 tablespoons Biltmore Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• pinch of salt
• 1-2 tablespoons heavy cream, or half-and-half
Method: Melt chips in double boiler. Stir in butter, Biltmore Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, vanilla, salt, and cream. Cool slightly and spread, or drizzle, over cooled cake. Note: This recipe does very well in a mini-muffin tin or as grown-up cupcakes.
