River Float Trips
April–October
Wonder at the amazing views as you follow the gentle French Broad River as it winds through the estate. Travel by raft or kayak (depending on water level and water temperature) on your own or with a well-trained guide.
Guided River Raft Trip

Cost: $30.00 per adult, in addition to estate admission. $20.00 per youth ages 3-16, in addition to estate admission. Must weigh at least 35 lbs.
Follow-A-Guide Raft Trip
Daily, June - August. 10:00 a.m. Reservations suggested.Call 800-411-3812.Paddle and steer your own raft as you follow our guided boats down the French Broad River. A minimum of two adults capable of paddling is required. Max per raft four.
Cost: $20.00 per adult, in addition to estate admission. $20.00 per youth ages 3-16, in addition to estate admission. Must weigh at least 35 lbs.
Self-Guided Kayak Rentals
Daily, April - Oct. 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. Reserve at 800-411-3812.Navigate a sit-on-top kayak or two-person tandem on the French Broad River. Includes safety equipment and transportation to and from the drop off and pick up sites. Prior paddling experience is recommended but not required.
Cost: $20.00 per person ages 6 and up, in addition to estate admission. Youth 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
River Outing Checklist
- Wear weather appropriate clothing: nylon shorts, river sandals, or sneakers are recommended.
- Bring sunscreen.
- Children must be three years old and at least 35 lbs. to participate.
- Youth under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
- Youth under 18 years of age must have an adult sign their liability release.
- Availability is dependent on river and weather conditions.
